In April 2022, APT Padel Tour will add a new continent to the calendar and will have its first event ever in South Africa.
The beautiful city of Cape Town will be the location and Africa Padel will be the host of this historical Master event. “Padel is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and it has now started to develop in South Africa. We always have the goal to be a global tour. Our players are very excited about this unique opportunity”, says Thomas Johansson, General Manager of APT Padel Tour. “We are very honoured to be able to bring APT Padel Tour to South Africa. Padel is a new sport for the people in Cape Town but we really think that this sport can become one of the biggest and most popular sports in Africa. Padel really connects people”, says Philippe Kjellgren, the founder of Africa Padel.
The inaugural Master event will be held in Camps Bay, Cape Town and Africa Padel will be the host for the upcoming 3 years. The APT Padel Tour has already announced its Master event in Buenos Aires in March. More news about the upcoming 2022 schedule will follow.
